High risk pregnancies. Early diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy problems such as placentitis can dramatically improve the chances for the mare and foal. Ultrasound of the pregnant mare requires expertise and experience as it is easy to misinterpret. We have years of experience performing abdominal scans of the mare during mid to late pregnancy, and have had many successful outcomes even when it has been against the odds.

Foetal sexing. The sex of foals can be determined in the womb by ultrasound. We offer this service using trans-abdominal ultrasound (through the belly) between the 130th and 260th day of pregnancy.

Yard health investigations. A particular area of interest is disease or health issues affecting more than one horse in the yard. Subclinical disease can show subtle signs but have a profound effect on performance. We offer a full investigative service.
